Monthly Archives: August 2013

We had a traditional japanese event for our daughter. It is called Okuizome, and is typically done when the baby is around 100 days old. It is to wish that she will be healthy forever and never suffer hunger. There is a traditional menu that is ceremonially presented to the baby.
I made all the dishes myself except for the fish. I had a restaurant prepare the snapper because there are rules of how to prepare the fish in a traditional way.
It was tough but I did it!
Here’s to her health and happiness!
